In our regional Concept & Application Centres in The Netherlands and Finland, we are working actively to develop new food concepts that live up to the expectations of the highly conscious consumer of today – products made with alternative proteins, free from gluten, soya or lactose, with reduced sugar and salt levels, vegan or vegetarian, or any other particular requests from one of our 6 000 customers world-wide. Barentz now operates in 60 countries and we are expanding into new territories year on year. Recently we established a joint venture in Thailand, where we will be focussing on the distribution of food ingredients within the Health & Nutrition sector. Barentz Middle East, established last year, has given us direct access to scarce raw materials growing in this unique region, such as saffron and liquorice.
